Don’t let legacy stand in the way of packaging progress [Video]

You’ve spent a lot of blood, sweat and tears building your brand, so naturally you may harbor a little reluctance to change, even when your competitors have started experimenting with new package designs. After all, if every other brand jumped off a bridge, would yours?

This may be the wrong attitude to take. For instance, in the past few months, fast-food titans McDonald’s and Burger King have undergone changes to their packaging. Regardless of your brand’s industry, the alterations these burger-slinging giants made do their brands justice without giving up on what they’ve created over decades of work.

Both businesses brought bolder colors to their packaging, as well as larger typefaces, clearer wording, and minimalist designs that undoubtedly reduces printing cost. Simply put: They’re doing more with less. Now, is that such a bad thing?
