Consumers demand sustainable packaging, but a new report discovered shoppers want packaging to take the lead on how exactly it should be recycled.
According to a study by the Carton Council of North America, eighty-six percent of adults surveyed believe food and beverage brands should take a more active role in helping consumers stay eco-friendly. Seventy-six percent think this would be best accomplished by printing clearer recycling information on the packaging itself, rather than on the company’s website or other locations.
Something as simple as printing the recycling symbol in an more observable location can work wonders. Two-thirds of the respondents responded that without it, they’d assume the packaging was unrecyclable and possibly throw it in the trash.
That’s all for today. Tune in next time for more packaging news!
