Pretty soon, the phrase “I’ll have the usual” won’t mean anything to your local bartender.
2016 will be the year of the flavor-infused brewski as beer companies spice up their classic recipes with seasonal spins and off-the-wall experimentation. While most of these deviations will be for a limited time only, packaging could win over crowds and turn the most bizarre batches into liquor store staples.
Apart from figuring out how to incorporate ghost peppers, pomegranates or bacon into their beers, brewers should be just as playful with packaging. Limited runs can be an excellent opportunity to try out alternative boxing features, handles and other accoutrements. Who knows what will take off?
