Walk down the aisle of your local liquor store today and you may notice more cans than ever before. That’s because craft beer manufacturers are falling in love with aluminum all over again for many different reasons.
For starters, cans protect their contents from things like oxygen and light better than bottles or other forms of packaging. And because of their shiny exterior, cans can also draw a customer’s eye better.
But perhaps the biggest benefit to canned beer is the functionality it gives to any cardboard packaging around larger cases. This packaging option can have much more portability than even a traditional six-pack of glass bottles, which benefits transportation from breweries to distributors as much as it does customers carrying their favorite suds home from the store.
